From September 6 to 8, 2025, the 15th Egypt International Steel and Metal Processing Exhibition (METAL & STEEL MIDDLE EAST 2025) was grandly held at the Cairo International Convention Center. As the largest steel industry event in the Middle East and North Africa region, this year's exhibition attracted over 500 exhibitors from more than 50 countries and over 20,000 professional visitors. Led by General Managers Mr. Li Anshun and Mr. Myron, Shijiazhuang BKDR Metallurgical Materials Co., Ltd. participated with its entire international trade team. Leveraging core technological products and customized solutions, the company achieved significant success during the event, securing both signed cooperation agreements and new business leads.

At this exhibition, BKDR highlighted three core product lines precisely aligned with Egypt's steel market demands. Addressing local steel mills' capacity expansion needs, the company showcased its nickel iron series—including nickel pig iron and refined nickel iron with 8-15% nickel content—whose low-sulfur, low-phosphorus properties drew attention from leading local enterprises like Iz Steel. For Egypt's booming infrastructure projects, on-site displays of alloy products like low-silicon spheroidizing agents in magnesium lumps and rare earth magnesium-ferrosilicon alloys—which enhance construction steel performance—drew inquiries from multiple infrastructure contractors. Meanwhile, wear-resistant castings for mining and metallurgy, slurry pump components, and rollers garnered on-site inquiries from Suez Canal Economic Zone enterprises due to their exceptional durability.

During the exhibition, General Manager Li Anshun led in-depth negotiations with over 30 overseas clients. Capitalizing on Egypt's market potential—projected 2024 steel consumption of 6.8 million tons with infrastructure steel accounting for 62%—the company secured supply contracts for nickel iron and nodularizing agents with three local enterprises, totaling over 10 million yuan. Additionally, cooperation intentions were reached with 12 potential clients spanning steel smelting, casting manufacturing, and other sectors. Mr. Myron stated: “As a strategic hub connecting Europe, Africa, and Asia, Egypt's infrastructure plans under its ‘Vision 2030’ offer vast opportunities. This exhibition achieved dual breakthroughs in technology export and market expansion.”

This participation marks a significant step in BKDR's Middle East and Africa market strategy. Egypt's steel industry is currently undergoing critical capacity upgrades and import substitution, with local capacity utilization at only 78% and a 67% reliance on imported high-end products. BKDR's alloy inoculants and refining agents precisely address these local technological gaps. The partnerships secured at the exhibition will enable the company to further leverage the policy advantages of the Suez Canal Economic Zone to build a regional supply chain system.
